Hodos Wear - Cancellation, Return and Refund Policy

Last updated: 22.06.2026

Hodos Wear, operated by Maliranta Design (3178320-4), complies with Finnish and European Union consumer protection laws.

1. Our 14-Day Reflection Period (EU Statutory Right of Withdrawal)

When you shop with us, we want you to feel completely at peace with your decision. If you reside within the European Union or European Economic Area, you have a formal legal right to change your mind and withdraw from this purchase within 14 days without needing to give any reason.

  • The Timeline: The 14 days begin the day after you (or someone you designate) physically receive your package from the courier.
  • How to Let Us Know: To let us know you would like to cancel your order, you must send us a clear message before the 14 days are up. You can easily do this by clicking the link in our website footer that says "Withdraw Order" and filling out the quick notification form.
You are also welcome to email us directly at hello@hodoswear.com. Include in the email the order number, your name, and address, and that you want to cancel the order.
Simply sending the package back without letting us know first doesn't qualify as a formal notice of withdrawal under the law.

2. Caring for the Garments

To receive a full refund, we kindly ask that items are returned in their original condition.

  • We completely understand that you need to open the package and try on the clothes to see how they look and fit, just like you would in a regular store!
  • However, if items are worn, washed, stained, or damaged beyond what is necessary to check the fit, we have to deduct the lost value of the item from the final refund.

3. Return Shipping Costs

Hodos Wear is a small ministry focused on spreading the Gospel to the unreached people of Thailand. Since our funds are dedicated to spreading the Good News of Jesus, we currently unable to cover the return shipping costs for our customers who want to return products. Our hope and prayer is that in the future Hodos Wear can grow to the point of being able to offer much more generous return policy with free returns to its beloved customers.

  • Mailing It Back: Once you have let us know about your decision to withdraw from your purchase and we have verified it, you should mail the products back to our home base in Finland no later than 14 days from the day you notified us.
  • Tracking Your Package: We highly recommend using a tracked postal service, as we cannot issue refunds for items that get lost in transit without official proof of postage.
  • Return address: Hodos Wear by Maliranta Design, Kunnaankatu 13 as 5, 21200 Raisio, Finland.

4. Manufacturer Errors

We strive for accuracy, but sometimes mistakes happen. We offer you a free replacement product or a full refund if you encounter any of the following:

  • Manufacturing Defects: The garment arrives with a clear production flaw (such as a broken seam, a tear, a stain, or a printing misalignment).
  • Incorrect Items: You open your package and find the wrong size, color, or design compared to what is shown on your original order confirmation.
  • Shipping Damage: The product was physically damaged while making its way through the postal system to your home.

How to report a production error to us:

To help us stay organized and resolve this swiftly with our printing partners, please reach out to us within 14 days of receiving the package.

  • Notification Period: Please report the error to us no later than 14 days after receiving the product.
  • Contact: Email hello@hodoswear.com and include:
    • Order number.
    • A brief description of the problem with the product.
    • Attach a couple of clear photos showing the problem (for example, a close-up photo of the defect or the size tag, along with a general photo of the full garment).
  • Processing: Once we have confirmed the error (usually within 5 business days) with our printing partner or supplier, we will send you a free replacement product or process a full refund of the purchase price.
  • Timeline: Our processing time depends on how quickly our partners handle the matter.
  • Return: You do not need to return the incorrect or defective product to us. You may keep an incorrect but usable product as a gift or give it to a friend. Broken products can be taken to your nearest recycling point.

5. Statutory Warranty & Defects Liability (EU Statutory Liability for Defects)

As a ministry based in Finland, we fully respect and honor the consumer protection laws established within the European Union. Every item we send out is covered by the standard two (2) year statutory liability for original defects.

This means that if a garment has an underlying manufacturing flaw or material weakness that causes it to fail long before its natural lifespan, we stand responsible as the seller to make it right.

  • This liability covers: Original defect or manufacturing fault present in the product.
  • It does not cover:
    • Normal wear and tear or aging.
    • Damage caused by incorrect washing, drying, or other handling contrary to the instructions.
    • Faults caused by external factors (e.g., accidents).

  • Limitation of Liability: As the seller, Hodos Wear is responsible for the statutory liability for defects to the customer. The physical manufacturing and printing of the product are performed by our printing partner. If a defect is determined to be of manufacturing origin, Hodos Wear will seek compensation from the manufacturer and pass it on to the customer.

How we handle long-term issues together:

If you discover an inherent defect in the product, please notify us within a reasonable timeframe (under Finnish law, this means within two months of noticing the problem).

To process your complaint effectively and determine the origin of the defect (manufacturing error vs. user error), we use the following process:

  • Reporting the Fault: The customer must report the error within a reasonable time of discovering it. According to Finnish law, this is in practice approximately two months.
  • Reporting Period (First 12 Months): During the first 12 months after the customer has received the product, the defect is presumed to have already existed at the time of delivery. Hodos Wear as the seller is responsible for verifying the error and processing the compensation.
  • Reporting Period (Months 13–24): Between months 13 and 24, the customer must present credible evidence that the defect or its root cause already existed at the time of delivery.
  • Processing and Compensation: When an authentic defect is established, our first heart's desire is to completely fix the error by having a brand-new, flawless replacement garment printed and shipped to you via our production partner at zero cost. If a replacement isn't possible, we will issue a partial price reduction or cancel the transaction for a full refund.

Why can't I offer a more flexible return policy yet?

I am Johannes, the founder of Hodos Wear. The only reason I started Hodos Wear was to fund my missionary work in Thailand. My call is to bring buddhists to Jesus, but to fund that mission I have to manage this store, design the clothes, and do online marketing.

Hodos Wear products are manufactured and sent to you by my Print-on-Demand printing partner. Every shirt and hat is made specifically for you. At this point, Hodos Wear doesn't have a physical warehouse or employees who could receive, restock, or exchange returned products.

My prayer is that one day Hodos Wear will be able to offer all its customers a generous, free return policy for all products. I am working toward a future where we can organize logistics so that no product goes to waste, but instead finds a new home quickly and the powerful name of Jesus gets proclaimed broader!

Until then, every carefully placed order and checked size guide is a huge help to this ministry. Thank you for understanding the situation, and participating in bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to both the unreached people of Thailand by being a Hodos Wear customer.

May God Bless You,

Johannes Maliranta,

Founder of Hodos Wear and an Ambassador of Christ.
